YMCo plans, hosts, and leads mission experiences for middle school and high school youth. This includes week long summer mission immersion experiences, weekend mission retreats in the fall and spring, spring break mission experiences and a year-long Mission Scholar Program for 10th and 11th graders.
YMCo Mission Immersion experiences typically include both physical labor (such as cleaning, landscaping, or sorting food) and relational experiences (such as providing hospitality and friendship to our neighbors living on the margins). YMCo has long term relationships with dozens of agencies, and our staff accompanies all groups to their worksites. In the evenings, YMCo staff lead debriefing sessions that include Bible Study, group conversation, and art projects as a means of reflecting on the group’s mission experiences.
YMCo provides these programs in multiple locations. For more information, click on the links below.
YMCo offers two main ways that college aged young people can participate in our ministries.
During our busy summer season, Youth Mission Co hires a staff of college-aged young people to help us at each of our locations. Summer staff interns accompany youth groups to their worksites each day, and lead debriefing sessions with groups in the evenings. It is a meaningful, challenging, God-filled summer, with times of personal reflection and discernment of what God is calling you to do with your life.
College Mission Immersion Experiences
YMCo locations host college mission groups for weekend and spring break immersions. YMCo college programs are specially tailored to fit the group, and can include discernment activities for students who are thinking about their next step in life.
